Clients often approach The Consulting Interface Limited with a general idea of what they need, and this project was no different. We were able to work with the plan actuaries to understand the limitations of the old Provident Fund and the enhancements of the New Pension Plan. Each staff member needed to fully appreciate their options and the relative advantages. Depending upon attained age and service each employee had to weigh their choices. Being associated with a regional organisation drawing staff from various island states, each member had to consider their preferred country of domicile after retirement.

PLANNING A SUCCESSFUL RETIREMENT
As a responsible and caring employer, T&TEC wants to make every effort to ensure that those who would have served the organisation well, over the years, would have received competent guidance towards effective retirement planning. Therefore, T&TEC organised a 3-day programme designed to aid participants to effectively make the transition into retirement.
This series of interactive multimedia presentations, workshop activities and small group projects expose participants to the real-life considerations that go into planning a successful retirement. Over the years, the results have been remarkable. One hundred percent of staff have indicated that they have found the sessions useful, while the following percentages indicate the areas they considered most helpful:
LIFESTYLE FINANCIAL PLANNING
Our client recognised that effective retirement planning is in fact the end of a process over an employee's working life. Therefore, employees need assistance during their life cycle periods. This programme was designed to appeal to the widest cross section of employees.
This practical seminar/workshop begins with an overview of the Financial Planning Process, linking same to Life Cycle Periods and Objectives relative to a person’s working life. It then focuses upon practical issues of money management, savings, investment and wealth accumulation planning. Practical workshops on goal setting, budgeting and debt service management are included and are designed to empower participants to take charge of their financial lives. The matching of investment instruments to specific needs and the balancing of risk and return are considered in the workshops and interactive sessions.
